POINT = the COMMAND over-rides/over-rules Self-centeredness
B “And this ‘Text’ from God is Clear.” 5:22-6:9
POINT = Christ-followers live to Serve Jesus, as LORD
1. Serve Jesus out of Reverence for Him 5:21
2. Serve Jesus in view of Revelation
= God has spoken clearly -> respond in Obedience
cf. Colossians 3:18-25 – same matters spoken of
3. Serve Jesus because that is Righteous
- obedience is right, and an evidence of changed character
- God first in our lives -> righteous living
4. Serve Jesus in every Relationship 5:22-6:9
= faith revealed in ‘sight’ = in the sight of God and Others
- intentional change rooted in God cf. 6:5-9

= an inconsistency between Profession and Practice cf. 1 Jn. 1:5, 6
= “sin” 27 _No Repentance -> Judgment 11:29-31
